Simon Needham's latest art collection is a vibrant celebration of majestic creatures, blending outward beauty with a deeper, poignant narrative. Beneath the surface, the series hints at the tragedy and urgency surrounding the plight of endangered animals. This collection is more than art—it’s a call to action, raising awareness for these vulnerable species. The works incorporate a rich mix of materials, including hand-painted acrylic, 18KT gold accents, wool-adorned celebratory horns, diamond-cut glass, and archival-printed canvas, all elegantly framed with custom plexiglass.
Simon’s journey begins in his hometown of Los Angeles and takes him to sanctuaries across South Africa, where he photographs these magnificent animals, capturing their essence in ways that transcend the lens. Witnessing their challenges firsthand, he channels this experience into his art, creating pieces that not only inspire but advocate for conservation.
Recognizing the urgency to protect these creatures for future generations, Simon donates 50% of all profits directly to conservation charities in desperate need of support. His work is a powerful blend of art and advocacy, reminding us of the beauty we must fight to preserve.

About Simon
What began for Simon Needham as an aesthetic pursuit led to an awakening of artistic creation. Needham studies the lives of his subjects—lions, rhino, and other wildlife—to bring forth distinct personalities through their gaze and demeanor. In his travels, Needham also saw the opportunity to illuminate the plight of vulnerable human populations. Armed with a successful business background— Needham has emerged as a humanitarian who understands what ultimately makes people pay attention— or look away.
With unexpected vibrancy and emotional range, his images from Nepal, Tanzania, Bolivia, and Peru reveal humankind as family. Needham is currently aligned with a host of humanitarian organizations: One Heart Worldwide, GG Conservation, Development Media International, California Wildlife Center, Care for Wild, and Fundacion Natura Bolivia— groups committed to halting, possibly even undoing the damage of human impact on vulnerable habitats and humans worldwide. Whether the viewer simply appreciates or more actively participates by obtaining one of his works, the reward is immense. Fifty percent of the profits from his fine artwork funds the affiliated NGOs.
Simon invites hearts and minds to move in a new, eminently more positive direction. For this artist, beauty is not enough. While his arresting, often majestic subjects easily capture the viewer’s heart and imagination, Needham’s work is also a call to action. His message is clear: No one does this alone. The work must serve to inspire more than delight in the viewer and more than empathy— it must inspire the courage to act.
